Why Homeowners Choose True Flow Plumbing PDX

Hiring a plumber mostly comes down to trusting a stranger with your house and your money. Here's what we do to make that easier.

The short version: we publish our prices, we show up when we say we will, and we tell you what's actually wrong instead of what's most profitable to fix.

That's the whole pitch. Everything below is just the evidence.

We put our prices on the internet

Call six plumbers in this metro and ask what they charge. Most won't tell you until someone's standing in your kitchen. We think that's backwards, so here are our numbers:

Standard labor, Mon–Fri 8am–4pm$185/hour + parts
After hours, weekends & nights$462.50 minimum
40–50 gallon water heater, installed$1,695 and up
Tankless water heater, installed$4,000 – $6,000

The after-hours minimum covers getting a licensed plumber to your door and the first hour of work; additional time runs $185/hour. We'd rather you know that before you call at 2am than feel ambushed by it afterward. If you want the full breakdown, it's in what a plumber actually costs in Portland.

We show up when we said we would

This sounds like a low bar. In this trade it isn't. The single most common thing our customers mention is that we turned up in the window we gave them.

"Showed up on time, explained everything clearly, and fixed our water heater the same day. Honest pricing, no upsell games."

β€” Sarah M., Hillsboro, OR

"Our sewer line backed up on a Saturday and they were out within a couple hours. Saved us a huge mess."

β€” Daniel K., Gresham, OR

If we're running late, you get a call. Not a silent two-hour window that turns into four.

We explain it before we do it

You should understand what's wrong with your plumbing before you agree to pay for it. That means plain language, the actual options β€” including the cheaper one β€” and a straight answer when you ask whether something really needs replacing.

Sometimes that answer costs us money. Water pooling under a water heater is a good example: four of the five causes are repairs, not a replacement, and we'll tell you that rather than sell you a new unit you didn't need. Same with tankless β€” we install plenty of them, but we'll also tell you when a standard tank is the smarter buy for your house.

"Professional, clean, and fairly priced. We'll be calling True Flow for all our future plumbing needs."

β€” Jenna R., Tigard, OR

We treat your house like someone lives in it

Shoe covers, drop cloths, and the job site cleaned up before we leave. Crawlspaces put back the way we found them. It's a small thing that says a lot about how a company operates.

"Repiped our entire 1960s house and the water pressure is night and day. Clean work, friendly crew."

β€” Patricia L., Lake Oswego, OR

Licensed, insured, permitted

We're a licensed Oregon contractor, CCB #200212, and we pull permits on the work that requires them β€” water heater replacements included. An unpermitted install isn't a bargain; it's a problem deferred until you sell the house and a buyer's inspector goes looking for the paperwork.

We're also woman-owned and family operated, based in Hillsboro, working across Portland, Beaverton, Tigard, Gresham and 20+ metro cities.

Emergencies get answered

Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. Emergency calls get answered around the clock, because burst pipes don't check the calendar.

"Quick response for an emergency leak and the repair has held up perfectly. Couldn't ask for better service."

β€” Mike T., Beaverton, OR

Big job? You don't have to pay for it all at once

Repipes, sewer replacements and water heater failures are rarely well-timed expenses. We offer financing with a soft credit check that won't affect your credit score to see what you prequalify for.

What we're not

We're not the biggest outfit in the metro, and we don't have a fleet of vans or a call center. If you want a company that can put six trucks on a commercial site tomorrow, that isn't us.

What you get instead is a small licensed crew that answers its own phone, quotes honestly, and has to live with its reputation in the same neighborhoods it works in. For most homeowners, that trade is a good one.
